April 28, 1862 – General Grant

“General Grant is said to be coming out all right at last; the charges against him have been investigated and found frivolous. The charge that he disobeyed orders in landing his forces at Pittsburg instead of on the opposite bank and await the arrival of Buell’s army is explained by the fact, that owing to the high stage of water a landing could not be effected at the point designated.”
