There is no news from General McClellan’s army to-day. He is pushing on as fast as practicable.
A recent order appoints Major Richard Nixon, of the Ninety-ninth New York Volunteers, Asssistant Provost Marshall of the Department of Virginia, for the city of Norfolk and the surrounding country.
Captain Talmadge. until recently Chief Quartermaster or this department, has been ordered to relieve Captain Sawtelle, who has been performing the duties of the office for some weeks past. Captain Sawtelle, being a member of the staff of General McClellan, and at the request of the Chief Quartermaster of the Army of the Potomac, is relieved, and will report to General Van Vilet.
Thirty-five rank and file and three officers, taken prisoners, are on board the steamboat John Brooke, and will leave for Fort Delaware to-morrow morning. The John Brooke also takes North a lot of sick and wounded
from our army.
General Wool visited Norfolk again to-day. It is in contemplation to remove the headquarters of this department to that city.

The Old Point steamer has arrival, but brings no letters.
Several of the crew of the Merrimac came up. Some of them are Northern men, and claim to have been impressed.
