Belfast, Me, Aug. 20.—Stillman F. Kelley of Boston, a summer resident of Camden, was fined $10 and costs for speeding on the Atlantic Highway at Belfast by Municipal Judge Carleton Doak in this city today, the same fine being meted out to E. B. Cornell, a Northport chauffeur. Kelley and Cornell are alleged to have been driving at the rate of 42 miles an hour in a 15-mile zone, and pleaded guilty to the charge of reckless driving. M. Farwell, fined $10 and costs for reckless driving, said she was driving without a speedometer and did not realize the speed. Hennan Rosenbloom of Rockland was also fined for exceeding the city speed limit $10 and costs, $16.65. Hardly a day passes in Belfast without one or more arrests for speeding or reckless driving on complaint of the State highway officers, and an effort Is being made to stop It.
