Airdome Offers Another Double Bill to Patrons

A double bill, with two sure-fire pleasers, is the offering at Fox Imperial airdome tonight and tomorrow, with “Doctor X” and “My Pal the King”, being presented.

“Doctor X” offers something new in mystery plays, with a group of learned medical scientists endeavoring to aid the police in the solution of a group of mystery slayings. A reporter, who is also trying to ferret out the secret, and the daughter of one of the doctor’s, with whom he is in love, provide a splendid romantic interest

Hair-raising suspense is relieved every now and then by the dialogue of the reporter and the antics of the doctor’s maid.

Lee Tracy and Fay Wray are cast in the roles of reporter and the doctor’s daughter. Leila Bennett, remembered for her work as the colored maid in “The First Year”, is the maid in “Doctor X”. Lionel Atwill, Preston Foster, John Wray, Arthur Edmund Carewe, Robert Warwick, Mae Busch and a score of other notables are in the excellent supporting cast.

“Doctor X” is fascinating and intensely interesting and few will be able to remain composed and at ease during the showing of the more tense scenes.

“My Pal the King” is the newest Tom Mix relief, and the popular western star adds another winner to the list he has started compiling since he entered the “talkies” after a long absence with a circus. Instead of being on the range this time, Tom is cast as the guardian of a European boy king, who is the victim of a plot to overthrow his reign. The Yankee cowboy saves the youngster and establishes peace in the country by using cowboy tactics. Mickey Rooney, Paul Hurst, Noel Francis, Stuart Holmes, Jim Thorpe (the Olympic star) and, Tony, Tom’s horse, help the star in making a great picture.
