The English newspapers, at the latest advices, were in a high fever of excitement over the exploits of the rebel ram Arkansas. They were quite confident that the Union forces were about to lose command of the Mississippi, and that the rebel navy would speedily accomplish great things for the rebel cause. By this time they are at liberty to reflect upon the complete destruction of said invincible ram by our gunboats, which drove her into such close quarters that her own men were compelled to blow her up.
