Author Thrilled as Her Story is Filmed

Theater advertisement for a showing of "A Son of the Sahara."

Louise Gerard, the English authoress, who wrote “A Son of the Sahara,” Edwin Carewe’s First National screen version of which will be shown at the Palace Sunday, went from England to Tonffourt, Algeria, to observe the filming of some of the most spectacular scenes of the production.

This was Miss Gerard’s first experience with a picture company and she was filled with interest as she watched her story take shape from day to day on the celluloid, unlike many authors, Miss Gerard is fully satisfied that her work was in capable hands for its transference to the screen. Site has expressed herself highly satisfied with the changes made in the story by Adelaide Heilbron, the scenario writer, and Mr. Carewe. She realizes that such changes as were made were necessary for a concise picturization of her story.
