Dredge Coming to Be Used in Drainage Work in the East End of District
Benton county expects to accept delivery within a few days of a medium sized dredging shovel which is being bought by the county for use in the various localities where land is going bad thru subbing and where the present drainage systems have proven inadequate. There are several thousand acres of land in the county that are becoming worthless from this cause and where the district itself is unable to finance the necessary operations to restore the land to productivity.
While somewhat foreign to the functions of government it has been thot [sic] that it would be good business for the county as a whole to get behind the proposition in an effort to restore the land to productivity and put it back on the tax rolls and make it of value to its owner.
