Contractor Arthur G. White has learned that a tree can be more damaging to an automobile than an express train. A short while ago he was struck by an express train and his car was somewhat damaged, while he escaped injury. Tuesday morning the same Essex, which was struck by the train, collided with a tree at the intersection of the Freehold and the West Farms road and was damaged more than by the train. Mr. White was in the act of turning from the Freehold road into the West Farms road when a Buick touring car driven by George W. Mathews of Maxim, tried to pass him. The result was that the cars collided and Mr. White was forced into the tree.
