A NANTUCKET whaling vessel has discovered a new island in the South Pacific Ocean. It is situated about two hundred and fifty miles south of Desolation Island, and the ship which encountered it, took from it, in less than a week’s time, four hundred barrels of sea elephant oil. Two other ships are said to be now in course of preparation to return thither, for the purpose off profiting by this valuable discovery.
