Maj. E. OVERTON, of the 50th Regiment. P. V., son of EDWARD OVERTON, Esq., of this place, was brought home on Sunday last, he having received a painful wound in the great battle of Wednesday, the 17th inst. The ball entered the fleshy part of the left leg, just above the knee, and passed out barely missing the bone. Maj. O. is an officer of acknowledged bravery and ability, and it will please his numerous friends to learn that he is recovering rapidly as circumstances will permit.
A.J. EASTABROOKS, of the the 6th Regiment, P. R. C., who lost his left arm in the recent fight under Pope is, we understand, getting along finely.
