Bridget Deakin, of 9, Rainford’s Buildings, Wigan-lane, was summoned for assaulting Susannah Richards on the 21st inst.—Complainant stated that the had lent defendant some coal, and on Thursday asked her if she would return some of it. Defendant put some coal in a box, and then asked complainant for a penny she owed her. Complainant paid her the penny, and Deakin threw the coal out of the box, and then throw the latter at her legs. She also struck her over the eye, and cut her.—Other evidence was given.—Defendant said she did not commit the assault, and the bench ordered the parties to pay the costs between them.
