May 27, 1862 – Excitement in Baltimore

The excitement in Baltimore continued yesterday. Persons who were accused of exulting over Kenley’s defeat, were attacked and beaten in the streets, and more arrests were made.—The assailants were, it is said, friends of the soldiers of Col. Kenley’s regiment, who demanded that U. S. flags should be raised upon the houses of several individuals. These parties, however, were soon dispersed by the police. There was much disorder and bad conduct throughout the day.
