MIAMI WOMAN IS RESCUED FROM OCEAN BEACH UNDERTOW.
WASHINGTON, July 21.—(AP)—Senator Robert N. Stanfield of Oregon risked his life in a successful effort to save a drowning woman in heavy undertow late yesterday off Ocean City, Maryland.
Hearing Mrs. J. E. Swanson, wife of a Miami real estate operator, cry for help, the senator swam to her, supported her for fifteen minutes when she was unable to make progress toward the beach because of the undertow, and until the life guards arrived.
