Sixteen rebels from Marmaduke’s command, who recently intercepted the mail from Lebanon to Marshfield, and stole its contents, which, fortunately, were not very valuable. They then made their way Northward, to join guerilla bands.
Small parties of bushwhackers are infesting almost all the roads between Sedalia and Springfield; and the reports from North Missouri are to the same effect.
A large number of rebels, suspected of belonging to bushwhackers, have been arrested near Lexington, The bushwhacking demonstrations in Jackson county, are reported the command of Quantrel.
It is denied that Josiah alias Sy Gordon is back north of the river. He is an old guerilla captain.
