A Serious Accident

A serious accident occurred on Wednesday to Joseph Boardman, Esq., of the Bank of England, 69 years of age. The unfortunate gentleman, about half-past three o’clock in the afternoon, was proceeding along the Poultry on his way homewards, when he stepped on a piece of orange-peel, and fell against the kerb with fearful violence. He was picked up in a state of insensibility, and conveyed to a neighbouring surgeon’s, when it was ascertained that his left arm was fractured in a shocking manner, and that he had received a severe wound in his head. His removal to St. Thomas’s Hospital was considered necessary, where he lies in a precarious state.
